National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) a national level scholarship exam conducted by NCERT and Science Branch of Directorate of Education, Delhi every year for the students of Class X. The selection procedure consists of two levels. The students are subjected to objective type written tests namely the Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

  • Level 1 is conducted by Science Branch of Directorate of Education, Delhi is the state level exam
  • Level 2 conducted by NCERT is at the national level

A stipulated number of candidates who qualify the first level appear for level 2. The top 1000 students from all over India are awarded the scholarship.


NTSE is one of the oldest and most prestigious scholarship exams in India devised by NCERT to identify and nurture talented students with exceptional aptitude in Science and Math. Evaluated and rewarded for their mental aptitude, language aptitude and scholastic NTSE scholars are highly respected across academia and beyond. Each year around two thousand NTSE scholarships are awarded for different stages of education.


Amitians have once again proven their scholastic mettle and emerged victorious at NTSE. 17 out of top 20 ranks in states of Haryana, Delhi and UP have been bagged by Amitians. NTSE 2018 scholars from the school are Ayush Singh – Rank 7, Shwetabh Changkakoti – Rank 11 and Sarrah Samaiyah – Rank 13 in Stage 1.
